What to expect?

First, Ryan Davenport will meet with you to determine your particular needs. He will review your medical history and discuss what you want to achieve with each treatment. Treatment frequency is determined on an individual basis, as each patient has different needs. Please discuss your treatment with Ryan on your first visit.

In almost all cases, acupuncture is performed while for some cases acupuncture and herbs will be utilized. The first treatment session is usually 60 – 90 minutes and subsequent sessions are 45 – 60 minutes.

Does acupuncture hurt?

No, acupuncture should not hurt. A momentary prick is often felt around the needle as it is inserted, eventually creating a dull pressure or tingling around the area during the treatment. Most people are amazed by how relaxed they feel during and after the treatment.

 

Is herbal medicine safe?

These herbal formulas have been tested and refined through the millennia.  I source my herbs from companies that adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and provide certificates of analysis.  When Chinese Herbal medicine is mixed by a trained herbalist (over 450+ hours of training/education) who utilizes properly sourced herbs it is safe and clinically effective.

 

Do you take Insurance?

In the future, it is likely that we will accept insurance.  Presently, Ryan will provide you with a superbill which has the necessary codes for you to submit to your insurance.

 

What are your rates?

Initial treatments cost $85.00 and subsequent treatments are $70.00. Herbal consults are $45.00.  Cupping sessions are $35.00.  Ask me about current treatment package deals.

 

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, checks and most major credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard.  Additionally, you may be able to use your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through your company.

 

What type of education do practitioners receive?

Nationally certified, practitioners are recognized by the State of Illinois as qualified health care professionals. To become a licensed practitioner in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, graduates must complete thousands of hours of training and 3 to 4 years of intensive schooling.

Each practitioner has completed their training and clinical internships and is fully licensed. Some are generalists, while others specialize in areas such as orthopedics, gynecology and gastroenterology. They combine the benefits of ancient techniques with the rigorous training that modern society demands.
